General Farm Hand

Whenuanui is a well-known sheep and beef farming operation owned and actively farmed by Richard and Dianne Kidd, their son David and wife Janine. As the home of Kaipara Lamb, Whenuanui is renowned for its best practice farming techniques and quality livestock.
This new position of General Farm Hand will work across Whenuanui Farm and Shelly Beach Farm which are well developed, high producing and environmentally astute properties located within 20 minutes of each other. Whenuanui Farm is a 376ha sheep and beef breeding farm located 3 minutes from Helensville and Shelly Beach Farm is a 550ha beef finishing farm located in South Kaipara.
This interesting and diverse role requires the appointee to be a self-starter with a sound understanding and genuine interest in best practice of livestock farming, pasture management and general farm maintenance. Excellent communication skills are essential to this role as are reliability, honesty and the ability to work as part of a team. Key tasks include general farm maintenance, tractor and machinery work. There will also be an element of stock work where a working dog would be beneficial.
Accommodation is a very well-appointed 2-bedroom cottage at Shelly Beach Farm, close to local amenities with a school bus at the gate to the local primary school.
